What Happened to Rock Music?

"What Happened to Rock Music? Will It Ever Come Back?"
by Ben Kleschinsky, studied at Nashua Community College

I think (I have a good set of reasons why) rock music and the local music scene in general really disappeared. You have to understand the economics of the whole situation, and why in the 90’s we started seeing rock bands getting little exposure.

So to begin we have to look at the music scene in the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s and look at what allowed rock music to dominate economically. It had to do with our FCC. Not many people know this because of a media blackout.

Think of personalities such as Cousin Brucie, Wolfman Jack, Pat St. John, Tom Kelly, Johnny Holliday, and Dave Hull. If the people liked what they heard, you moved up the ladder. It was a form of music democracy, the people not corporations were in control.

So the latest effort into wah-wah pedals (and we've found some pretty awesome stuff to share!) revealed some other interesting tangents that we thought we'd share first. Yes, yes, we're going to do more wah-wah pedal stuff, but we think it's better to break up the content with other interesting information that has more to do with great heavy music, the development of great heavy music, and the presentation of great heavy music.

Doom in June 2014

I went to Doom in June 2011 to loan one of our amps to Kent Stump of the band Wo Fat. Had an awesome time! When it came time to see about the followup, there was no Doom in June in 2012. Being out of the loop, I ended up missing 2013. This year, I'm going!

I got two beefs with the Cheyenne Saloon as a venue:
1.) They have these inconvenient pool tables in inconvenient places that make watching the bands less than optimal.
2.) The beer is warm.
